The Barolo R.G. is a selection of crus that we own in the La Morra area,
they are: Rocche dell’Annunziata, Giachini and a hint of Conca. We
decided to blend them because we thought that they complete eachother:
Rocche with its balsamic flavors, Giachini with its balance between
acidity and tannins and Conca with its strong fruit perfumes.
The ageing lasts for 24 months and it is completely in barrique, 50%
used (2nd to 4th passage) and 50% new.
The name R.G. comes from the 2 prevalent vineyards in the wine which are
Rocche dell’Annunziata and Giachini, but it also stands for “Revello
Giacolino”, which was the name of my grandfather.
